Prayer The people of All Saints are bound together in common prayer. On one wall of the baptistery stands the prayer board, on which members are encouraged to write their petitions and intercessions, which are included in Sunday’s Prayers of the People. At the back of the nave one finds the candle stand, which we share with the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Romanian Orthodox Mission, which worships at All Saints on Sunday afternoons. Tapers are available at the ushers’ table in the back of the Nave; when you light one and place it in the sand of the candle stand, it is a sign of your continuing prayer for whatever your prayer intention may be. And, with respect to our Roman and Orthodox brothers and sisters, there is no charge to light a taper; in the Lutheran Church, we don’t pay to pray.
